Pope Francis say to us that “Christian spirituality proposes a growth marked by moderation and the capacity to be happy with little. It is a return to that simplicity which allows us to stop and appreciate the small things, to be grateful for the opportunities which life affords us, to be spiritually detached from what we possess, and not to succumb to sadness for what we lack. This implies avoiding the dynamic of dominion and the mere accumulation of pleasures” (LS222).

Our lifestyle and our model of consumption as society is far from being a simple and sober lifestyle. We have a lot of examples of the consumption model of use and throw, being one of their greater exponents the use of plastics. As an example, data made by European Parliament: each year, between 4.8 and 12.7 tones plastic ends in the sea.

It is obvious that we must abandon the model of consumption based on use and throw if we want to take care of our environment, as well as rationalizing the consumption and acquiring sobriety in the use of the resources, encouraging more healthier habits in our lifestyle, in our way of eating as well as in transport or any other space of our lives.
